Filema story
Filema is the outcome of A transformative trip to Brazil that not only left me with incredible memories but also changed my life forever. It was during this journey that my boundless love for crystals and my desire to create merged harmoniously. Crystals, with their inherent magic and healing properties, possess a wisdom of their own, and numerous cultures across the world have revered them for thousands of years.
Overwhelmed with kilos of crystals, I found myself uncertain about what to do with them. Then, a serendipitous realization struck me—macramé techniques were widely embraced throughout Brazil! Intrigued, I reached out to local artists, eagerly seeking to learn and absorb their artistic expertise.
Now, nestled on the cosmopolitan island of Antiparos in the Cyclades, my passion for crafting jewelry has blossomed into a charming workshop. Filema, derived from the Greek language, encapsulates the profound tradition of Greek civilization: the art of treating guests with utmost care and warmth, often through the offering of food or drink. In ancient Greece, Zeus, the chief of the twelve gods, bore the title Xenios Zeus, symbolizing his role as the protector of travelers. Consequently, it was customary for all individuals to extend their protection and finest hospitality to guests and wanderers.
Thus, Filema embodies the act of expressing gratitude and extending hospitality through thoughtful offerings to others.
